Lucy Represents So Many

Sometimes ministry sucks.

Did I just type that?

Only because it is true...sometimes ministry sucks. You pour blood, sweat, tears, time, finance into someone and get stomped. Sometimes repeatedly.

And this ongoing conflict between Charlie Brown and Lucy is a fantastic representation of what it's like:

Thought it stood for itself; but the thing Lucy represents are the people we pour time into who ignore, forget, walk away from...and then a while later come back and go through the whole process again. Yeah, there comes a time (discernment needed!) when "tough love" needs to be executed; but since His mercies are new every morning; I need to (usually) extend grace to those who keep taking laps around Mount Sinai...and, hopefully, they will learn their lessons...eventually. In the meantime, by His grace and in His power; we'll keep trying to kick the ball

Hang in there...Ministry isn't easy. My husband no longer is a Pastor...but he does work at the prison. He would for sure say being a pastor is the harder of the two jobs.
