The is an absolutely great and important reminder that is applicable to every apprentice of Jesus as we are all missionaries:
“We are not sent to preach sociology but salvation; not economics but evangelism; not reform but redemption; not culture but conversion; not progress but pardon; not a new social order but a new birth; not revolution but regeneration; not renovation but revival; not resuscitation but resurrection; not a new organization but a new creation; not democracy but the gospel; not civilization but Christ; we are ambassadors, not diplomats.”

I consider myself a missionary, because for me personal evangelism is one of the most central ministries and passions of my heart. But I have never been really fond of the "everyone's a missionary" terminology - certainly all Christians should be about the business of sharing the gospel (ie. being an evangelist), but I personally feel that the term "missionary" ought to still instill a bit more responsibility and respect for a person who devotes their life to that cause.
Similarly, the Bible talks about the "priesthood of the believer" but we don't go around calling each other "pastor." That position indicates (or should indicate) a higher level of commitment.
Again it's just a terminology issue and to some degree a personal preference of mine about what the word means, but while all Christians have the responsibility to share their faith, I would not say that every Christian should be a missionary. Just me ;)
